18 Great Places to Eat in Da Nang

Riding a scooter has allowed me to visit restaurants all over Da Nang. Besides good food, there are other things I look for in a restaurant to become a repeat visitor. Prices and portion sizes? Indoor or outdoor? Air-conditioned? Crowded? Easy to get to?

The following list of where to eat in Da Nang is an ongoing project. I live in Da Nang, so I’ll slowly add places to the list over time. If there are any restaurants in Da Nang you think I should try or want me to investigate for you, let me know in my Da Nang & Hoi An travel planning Facebook group.

I recommend using Agoda to book hotels in Da Nang or Hoi An.

SIX ON SIX

I came to check out this cafe and brunch spot for the first time the other day. I’m surprised I hadn’t heard of it until recently. It’s in the My An area.

When I went inside, I immediately thought they had great air conditioning. The restaurant is clean and comfortably organized.

There are at least four different seating areas. There is a small outdoor section in the front, several different areas to sit inside, and another big outdoor and shaded seating area in the back.

There are smaller tables if you’re eating solo and bigger tables for groups.

The staff was also friendly and attentive. At one point, a waitress noticed I was watching a video on my cell phone, and she brought over a small cell phone stand to use at the table. It was unsolicited and entirely of her own doing. I thought this was nice.

They serve a number of different dishes, mostly geared towards breakfast and brunch items. But there is a selection of other meals and sandwiches.

They have a separate menu for juices, with 100% juice, sugar-free smoothies, detox juices, and homemade kombucha.

The cost of the food is in line with other Western-oriented restaurants in the area. It isn’t cheap, but I wouldn’t call it expensive either.

The sandwich and overnight oats that I had were great. They tasted fresh. The overnight oats had a lot going on inside, with fresh fruit, bananas, and peanut butter.

My only negative would be I’d like the sandwich to come with some kind of side order. As it is now, it’s just the sandwich.

I like that they give free cold water with your order.

Voi’s Kitchen

Voi’s Kitchen is a newer restaurant in Da Nang. I ate here a few times during its soft opening and a few times since. A very nice couple owns Voi’s Kitchen, and the staff is equally friendly. It is on Thu Khoa Huan Street, across from Nguyen Van Thoai Street. The food is a little pricier than local options, but it’s high quality. The stuffed chicken breast meal was pretty good.

IRINI | Greek Restaurant & Bar

IRINI is a Greek restaurant located on An Thuong 10. You can walk here from any of the An Thuongs or the My An area. The food is excellent, as are the homemade yogurt bowls. The restaurant has two floors and a combination of indoor and outdoor seating. 

I’ve been getting the BBQ Chicken Gyros meal for 125.000 VND. It is excellent and filling. I’ve sometimes added a yogurt bowl, which they do really well. These 99.000 VND each. The yogurt bowls have fresh homemade yogurt (made daily), seeds, nuts, honey, and fresh fruit.

IRINI has a vegan platter that includes falafel balls, Greek lentil soup, carrot and cucumber sticks, and vegan dips like hummus, skordalia, and melitzanosalata.

They also offer skewers of chicken, pork, beef, lamb, pita wraps, and gyros. There’s a breakfast menu with different kinds of toast, like avocado, pesto, or hummus toast. I recommend checking this place out if you’re nearby. 

Lighthouse

This newish restaurant/cafe in Son Tra opened in December 2023. It is by far one of the cooler-looking restaurants or cafes I’ve ever been in. It has very high ceilings, with four separate seating areas staggered at different levels.

There are a lot of tables and areas for working remotely. It’s very clean. They have an all-day breakfast for 150.000 VND—throw in a coffee for an extra 20.000 VND. The salted coffee is pretty good.

The vibe inside is quiet, too. There’s soothing music. This would be a cool spot to come with your laptop to work. There is free motorbike parking right out front.

Che Phuoc Trang

This isn’t a food restaurant—rather, it’s a juice bar. They sell fresh juice, smoothies, and desserts.

It’s on the corner of Chau Thi Vinh Te and Do Ba Street. I’ve been coming to this family-run juice bar since 2018. The same husband and wife are running it. They are smiley and friendly—a very nice couple.

I come here often. In my above photos, I had carrot and passion fruit juice for 15.000 VND each—about $0.60 USD. You can sit at their street-side area or take juices or smoothies to go. They’ll put the juice in plastic cups inside convenient to-go carriers with a straw.

Hang’s Kitchen

I have been eating at Hang’s Kitchen since 2018. She used to have her restaurant on Chau Thi Vinh Te Street in Ngu Hanh Son (My An area) but moved to a new location in the An Thuongs. The portions here are big, and the prices are good. She cooks a wide variety of food: Western, Mexican, Italian, etc.

She has chicken, fish, and beef dishes. She also makes lasagna, sandwiches, including hamburgers and chicken pesto, and different kinds of pasta. There are Mexican burritos, quesadillas, and enchiladas.

She also makes some of the biggest and best salads in Da Nang. For a while, I was eating the Mango with Grilled Chicken Salad. Recently, I’ve been getting the Greek salad and adding grilled chicken on top for 100.000 VND total.

Lazeez Indian Halal Restaurant

This Indian restaurant is in Son Tra on Pham Van Dong Street, five minutes from the beach. You can read my review of Lazeez Indian Restaurant here.

I love good Indian food, but I must admit that I am still a newbie. I take small risks. I like buttered chicken and chicken tikka masala. I like naan. I also like chana chaat, a chickpea, potato, onion, and chili pepper salad-like concoction.

The restaurant is attached to the Mai Boutique Villa, a highly-rated budget hotel. This is a great location near the beach, and the hotel’s attached to a tasty Indian restaurant. You can read about beach resorts in Da Nang here.

Tacos Danang

I’ve been coming to this Mexican restaurant since 2018—nothing has changed. They make solid burritos, quesadillas, and supreme nachos. It isn’t the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, but it’s a solid spot for a good burrito or quesadilla.

The service is fast and efficient. I sometimes call ahead and order a couple of burritos for pickup. Chicken burritos are 69.000 VND each. Chicken quesadillas are 65.000 VND.

I actually order burritos from here a few times per week on the Grab app. They deliver quickly. Just a solid choice overall for something quick and filling.

Olivia Pizza

I’ve eaten at Olivia’s a few times recently. They make pretty good and filling homemade pizza, pasta, and salads. The restaurant is in Son Tra, off Vo Van Kiet Street – about five minutes from the beach.

One of my favorite hotels in Da Nang is nearby, the Sala Danang Beach Hotel.

My An Market

I had my first ever bowl of bún bò Huế, or bún bò, here in 2018. It’s a Vietnamese rice noodle dish with sliced beef and broth. I’ve been getting it from the same husband-wife-owned stand on and off since 2018.

A bowl of bun bo at My An Market costs 25.000 VND. Since it’s inside the market, you can also get fresh juice made right nearby and pair it with bun bo. Juice is also very cheap—about 15.000 VND per juice, depending on your order.

You can walk to the My An Market from the An Thuongs and My Khe Beach area. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend checking this local market out. It is geared towards locals, not foreigners, so it’s an authentic experience in Da Nang.

Mexican Choice

This is a taco spot in Son Tra. It’s owned and operated by a very nice and friendly family and staff. You can easily walk here if you’re in Son Tra around Vo Van Kiet Street.

But if you’re in the My An area or any of the An Thuongs, it would take about 20 to 25 minutes. You can also ride a GrabBike taxi here for around $1 USD. 

The tacos are great, though a bit expensive compared to local food or other options. However, they are fresh and high quality. I also found them pretty spicy, if that’s up your alley.

Miyoshi Japanese

This is a low-key, high-quality Japanese restaurant in Son Tra. It opens at 11 AM, closes at 2 PM, and reopens from 5 PM to 10 PM. It’s a small, air-conditioned place on Dinh Nghe Street.

Inside, it’s quiet and clean. The staff are very friendly. They have affordable and tasty lunch sets, sushi, sashimi, and seafood. The seafood bowl that I had in my pictures cost 160.000 VND and had salmon, tuna, shrimp, and something else seafood-y that I was unable to identify but was good.

I’m not a big seafood guy other than sushi—if that counts.

Bo Steak House

This is a low-key good place to come for some red meat. I luckily stumbled upon it while staying nearby at the Fivitel Danang, a hotel with some of the best views in Da Nang. You can read my review of the Fivitel Danang Hotel here.

I’ve tried the Beef BBQ Salad for 88.000 VND. I’ve also eaten the Aus Beef Steak 200 GR for 138.000 VND a few times, and it’s pretty good. Good prices and friendly staff. It’s quiet during the daytime hours.

Ciao Pizza

Ciao Pizza is around the corner from Bo Steak. It’s in the same, little walkable area near the Fivitel Danang Hotel. The pizza is good, made fresh, with a thin crust.

Ciao also serves appetizers like French fries, garlic bread, and salad. They also make pasta like spaghetti carbonara and Bolognese. But pizza is definitely their go-to dish. I had a large Mexican Chicken Pizza for 149.000 VND in my photos. It was pretty good and filling.

Tacos NGON

This is another spot for good tacos in Da Nang that I started coming to in 2018. They’ve moved their restaurant a few times, though; it used to be in Son Tra, then moved to a different area in My An, and now its current location is on Hoang Ke Viem Street in the My An area.

This isn’t a restaurant for a typical sit-down meal; it’s very laid-back. They make fresh tacos to order. You can pop in, order one or two, then leave, or you can order four or five and turn it into a meal. It’s a good spot for a quick bite.

Individual tacos are 39.000 VND ($1.50 USD) each. They come with pork, fish, chicken, or veggies. The flavors include wasabi coleslaw, yogurt salsa, ginger lime, or tamarind BBQ. I usually get three or four ginger lime tacos.

Kurumi – Healthy Vegan Desserts & Food

KURUMI is a great vegan and gluten-free restaurant in the My An area. There’s air conditioning, single tables, and bigger tables for groups.

Here’s my review of KURUMI Vegan Restaurant.

In my photos, I have the sandwich with smoked tofu and caramelized onions and the quinoa salad with marinated artichokes. The sandwich is 110.000 VND, and the quinoa salad is 79.000 VND.

I’m not really a tofu kind of guy, but I wanted to try this sandwich. I liked it. I am a salad guy, though, and the quinoa salad was fresh and excellent.

Some other food options at Kurumi are nutritious toasts and bread, superfood smoothie bowls, probiotic salads, and Caesar salads with tempeh. Dream bowls, including burrito bowls, poke bowls, and mushroom stroganoff with buckwheat or brown rice. Protein-rich soups. Different pastas. Chickpea burgers. Immunity smoothies and cashew milkshakes. 

There are also many dessert options, including gluten-free orange chocolate cheesecake, sugar-free and gluten-free truffles, raw homemade milk or dark chocolate, and more.

Bikini Bottom Express

There are currently three Bikini Bottom Express locations in Da Nang and Hoi An. They refer to themselves as an American/Canadian diner specializing in smash burgers. You can view their menu on Facebook here.

If you’re in Da Nang, you can visit the one on An Thuong 2 (beach side) or Tran Phu Street (in the city).

If you’re staying in Hoi An, visit their location at An Bang Beach. Each branch is in a convenient location, but if you’re further away, use the Grab app to get there. Download the Grap app here.

On my first visit, I had the Crispy Pickles (69.000 VND) and the Texmex Bam Bowlritto (110.000 VND). Both were great.

They have a selection of cold-pressed juices (without any added sugar). This juice is the Guava, Pineapple, and Lemongrass (40.000 VND). The food is from their Signature selection, The Sizzler (150.000 VND).

There’s sliced beef, a sausage patty, spinach, hash potatoes, two fried eggs, and two slices of sourdough bread. It’s super filling and very good.

On another visit, I decided to go back to the basics. After all, Bikini Bottom Express is known for its hamburgers—I’ve heard good things. The cold-pressed juice I had this time was the Pineapple, Orange, and Honey (40.000 VND).

They have a selection of smash burgers, and I had their namesake burger, the Bikini Bottom Burger (89.000 VND). It’s a double cheeseburger with sauteed onions, pickles, and Dijonnaise (Dijon mustard mixed with mayonnaise).

I added the fries combo for another 29.000 VND. These are pretty good prices for Western food in a nice sit-down restaurant with air conditioning.

An’s Cafe

I’ve been a regular eater at An’s Cafe in Son Tra now for many months. The food is tremendous value for money. The omelet with sausage and toast is excellent and costs 55.000 VND.

I’ve also tried the different sandwiches at An’s Cafe. She currently offers four sandwiches: tuna, egg and ham, egg and cheese, or ham and cheese. The sandwiches are either 49.000 VND or 55.000 VND. They are very filling and, as with everything in An’s Cafe, great value for money.

In addition to the food items and mixed juices, An’s also offers fruit smoothies, specialty smoothies, and Vietnamese and Italian-style coffees.

I’m a big fan of An’s Cafe; I visit regularly.
